Miami Silicon Valley? The next Silicon Valley in the United States of America. Is it really? If you have heard of the term Miami Silicon Valley or America’s “new Silicon Valley” and want to understand more about it, you are in the right place.

The undeniable growth in recent years of Florida’s hottest city is clearly what justifies the American metaphor, “Miami Silicon Valley” (also known as Miami 2.0). The city has shown that it is much more than the famous Miami Beach, with its tropicalized climate and lively, bustling nightlife.

Miami silicon valley (the new silicon valley)

You may already know that the original Silicon Valley is in California (and not in Florida, where Miami is located).

The Silicon Valley reference comes from the large industrial centers of major information technology, computer (and related) companies installed in the cities of the region, such as Palo Alto and Mountain View.

In this region are some of the most valuable and grandiose companies on the planet, namely: Apple, Facebook and Google. It is for sure the biggest technology hub on the planet.

So, why is Miami being called the new Silicon Valley?

Precisely because many businesses located elsewhere in the US (and in the world) have migrated to Miami. Let’s go deeper.

Miami’s Growth as a Business Center in the USA

Entrepreneurship is being promoted a lot in the city of Miami in the last few years. Investments are being made largely in the region (including by Brazilians). The pandemic of the new Coronavirus (covid-19) has decentralized even more the world of entrepreneurship, which has further strengthened Miami 2.0.

MIAMI 2.0

Even before the pandemic period, charming Miami was already the target of investments and was already growing in the business world. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the city has evolved and grown even faster, because it is adapted to the new economy that the pandemic brought to the world.

The new economy is characterized by the decentralization and democratization of opportunities for innovative entrepreneurship. In this context, Miami has stood out with respect to technologies such as blockchain, fintechs, and cryptocurrencies (decentralized virtual currencies).

This term, Miami 2.0, has gone viral on social media and was popularized by the city’s mayor, Francis Suarez.

The mayor “feeds back” the city’s growth from the business migrations there, investing for example in the real estate market that tends to grow more with the migrations (and it is already well heated by itself).

Another fact that has strengthened the term Miami 2.0 is that Mayor Francis Suarez has organized and executed incentives and events to not only attract startups, but also large companies in the technology and financial fields. Hence also the metaphor Miami Silicon Valley.

In an interview with the New York Times, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez said, “We want to be on the next wave of innovation. And that is indeed what we have seen in his efforts.

Still about the mayor, he has launched a proposal to receive the first and most valuable virtual currency (the bitcoin) as a form of tax payment, besides intending to use it to offer the payments of public employees.

This initiative has yielded not only more fans, but also high positive popularity among cryptocurrency lovers in the US and around the world.

In recent months the mayor’s initiatives and incentives seem to have paid off, as big business personalities such as Antonio Gracias (chairman of the investment committee of the giant TESLA) and Carl Icahn – according to Forbes, one of Wall Street’s most successful investors – have also settled in Miami.

Miami becomes the new Silicon Valley as it becomes the center of attention in terms of size and capacity for innovation and conversion.

Companies like Blackstone, Spotify, Goldman Sachs, American Express are already settled in Miami 2.0. With these brands come big investors and more eyes on the city.

Keep an eye on Miami Silicon Valley

If you are or think about being an entrepreneur and/or businessman, today it is practically a must to keep an eye on Miami 2.0.

Since the biggest companies (bigs techs) of today are taking multibillion dollar investments there. If the city is convincing the giants, you will not let it pass before your eyes, right?

With everything you have seen so far, it goes without saying that the new hub of entrepreneurial innovation, technology, and investment in the United States of America is definitely Miami 2.0, isn’t it?

If you have dreamed of entering the world’s largest economic power and internationalizing your business, there is no better opportunity and moment than the one we are living in right now.

You can enter the United States with your existing company or create a new business, even if you live in Brazil.

Start now to invest time and money to create relationships with Brazilian and foreign investors who are already doing business in Miami Silicon Valley.

There are companies that provide business start-up services in the USA, uncomplicating some processes related to foreign exchange, remittances, visas, and the actual opening of the company itself. It is worth researching and getting to know more about this subject!

We wish you great business in the Land of Uncle Sam!
